A documentary based on the lives and journey of Liverpool based punk band Maggie Witch.
Maggie Witch: One Last Shot is a documentary that follows the story of the band Maggie Witch and its members. In the wake of their decision to bring the band to an end, we join Edith Rose, Kieran Jones, Jack Youd, and Will Taylor as they reflect on their years with Maggie Witch, while also looking ahead to their next creative chapter. Focusing on the band as a collective and on each member as an individual, the film weaves a portrait of life as an independent band.
Throughout a compilation of interview clips, gig footage, and band rehearsals, the members reflect on the challenges of an independent band, as we witness them performing their final shows together, and moving onto a new creative endeavour - their new band. Dan Kelly steps into the shoes of Kieran Jones as the new guitarist, and the music shifts to a new style, showcasing the band members individual skills.

Meet Jack Youd, the band's bassist. Jack's positive outlook on life and the band has uplifted our documentary constantly cracking jokes on set and filling the room with laughter Jack is a clear lover of his work. His commitment to the band into their new era has not gone unnoticed and his excitement for this new chapter is undoubtedly proven time and time again.
Meet Kieran Jones Maggie Witch's own bassist. Kieran's experience in music has led to him becoming an incredibly talented guitarist, a real asset to the band. Kieran's journey has led him to embark on a new life in Japan, leaving Maggie Witch but his legacy lives on with the bad undoubtedly.
Edith Rose is Maggie Witch's lead singer. Edith's commitment to the band despite the physical effects on her proves her love for the band and the genre. her idea to go into a new genre of music, leading the band into a new era which she will continue to lead and carry is a real vocal point for the documentary allowing audiences to connect even further with the band.

Drummer, Will Taylor. Will's vulnerability throughout the text allowed us as filmmakers to really connect with the idea of Maggie Witch. His talent on drums paired with his love for music and where originated added surprising depth to the documentary.



Meet the team!
Izzy Simpson: Director/Producer
Izzy knew the band personally therefore her personal relationships allowed us to gain a better insight into the band. Izzy took charge of the idea, influencing the look and feel of the film with her consistent effort and input helping the rest of the team. Her location scouting allowed us to get into recording sessions with the band and get gig footage of their final moments as a band.
Conor McCall- Cinematographer.
Conor took on many roles when physically shooting, this included setting up equipment and placing all cameras around recording sessions meaning we could get every angel making it more effective for the edit. He utilised different lenses and cameras to make the feel of the film even more effective. Conor also helped Shea with the edit in the pre production showing his ability to take on multiple roles of production.

Despite Shea taking on the difficult role of editor, his input was not amiss when filming. Both his and Conor's dedication to making sure all angels in recording sessions were set up and capturing every intimate angel with the band allowed audiences to fully immerse in the documentary
Saskia Barrington - Marketing/Co Producer
Saskia was in charge of marketing the film correctly and ensuring all pre production assignments were also done. Creating a social media presence for the film allowed people to engage with the documentary before it came out and focusing on individual shots of the band while filming on location.
